I Changed My Mind About Prom

Don't get me wrong, I still think it's stupid.

Unless there's a possibility of getting asked.

Then, it's like the best thing in the universe.

And you look like this:

Why? I don't know. It's probably just the excitement of having prom brought up more than two times in casual conversation...

Because it's totally normal to have that happen. Right?

Guys will just randomly talk about taking the first girl who brings them a pizza to prom right? To a girl whose family owns a pizza company? That's normal, right? Also, asking your opinion on day activities and using your name every time, like, "Doesn't that sound fun, [your name here]?" Or talking about how their tux fits them perfectly, then having one of their friends go, "Why don't you ask that redhead?"

OH MY DEAR LORD.

None of that is normal, is it?

NONE OF THIS IS FREAKING NORMAL!

OH, DEAR.

Sorry about that. Back to my thoughts on prom.

I don't necessarily have to like it, right? It's just a dance, but apparently, this dance is the biggest dance of them all, and high school isn't complete without going.
Prom really isn't that important. It's just a dance, and since it's boys' pref, it makes girls feel bad about themselves if they don't get asked.

Do I want to go to prom?

Hell yes, I do.

Why?
Because everyone is going to tell me that I'll turn out fine if I don't go, but how do they really know that? Someone told me that they never went to prom and they turned out fine, but she was really bitter. I could tell. My mom went to prom, so why shouldn't I?

Prom could be fun. I want to go, so I guess I'll just see what happens.
